Neuromodulator Aftercare Instructions

At JaeNix Med Spa, we want you to achieve the best possible results from your neuromodulator treatment. Whether you received Botox®, Jeuveau®, Disport®, or Xeomin®, following these aftercare instructions will ensure optimal results and reduce the risk of side effects.

Immediately After Treatment

  • Avoid Touching or Rubbing the Treated Area: Do not touch, press, or massage the treated area for at least 4-6 hours to prevent spreading the product to unintended areas.

  • Stay Upright: Remain upright for 4 hours after treatment. Avoid bending over or lying down.

  • Limit Facial Movements: Refrain from excessive facial expressions (like frowning or squinting) for the first 3-4 hours.

  • Avoid Makeup: Skip makeup or skincare products on the treated area for at least 6 hours post-treatment.

Within the First 24 Hours

  • Skip Exercise: Avoid strenuous physical activity, heavy lifting, and excessive sweating for 24 hours to prevent product migration.

  • No Heat Exposure: Stay away from saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, and hot showers as heat can affect the treatment results.

  • Avoid Alcohol & Blood Thinners: Refrain from alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), or supplements like fish oil, which can increase bruising.

  • Use Gentle Care: Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat dry—avoid scrubbing.

Following Days (24-48 Hours Post-Treatment)

  • Manage Swelling or Bruising: Any minor swelling or bruising can be treated with a cold compress (10-15 minutes at a time) as needed. Avoid direct pressure on the area.

  • Be Patient: Results take time. You may begin to see effects within 3-5 days, with full results visible in 10-14 days.

What to Avoid

  • Facials or Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, or massages for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.

  • Direct Sun Exposure: Always use SPF 30+ sunscreen when outdoors to protect your skin and maintain your results.

  • Sleeping on Your Face: Avoid sleeping face-down for the first 2 nights to prevent pressure on the treated area.

When to Expect Results

  • Results typically appear 3-5 days after treatment, with full results visible by 2 weeks.

  • Results last approximately 3-4 months, depending on the product and individual metabolism.

Possible Side Effects

Mild side effects are normal and typically resolve within a few days. These may include:

  • Redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site

  • Mild headache

  • A slight sensation of tightness in the treated area

Contact Us Immediately if you experience:

  • Severe swelling, pain, or bruising

  • Drooping eyelids or asymmetry

  • Vision changes

  • Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing (rare but serious)
