What Is Direct Primary Care

Primary care the way it should be

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based model that removes the insurance middleman from your primary care relationship. You pay a flat monthly fee and in return you get direct access to your provider, longer visits, same-day or next-day scheduling, and a clinician who actually has the time to get to know you.

The current insurance-based system incentivizes volume. Providers see more patients, spend less time with each one, and focus on billing codes rather than outcomes. DPC is built around the opposite model — fewer patients, more time, better care.

At Optimize by JaeNix, our DPC membership is an extension of our functional, whole-person approach to health. It is ideal for adults who want consistent, proactive primary care without the hassle of insurance, referrals, or rushed appointments.

DPC is a cash-pay medical membership, not insurance. It does not replace emergency care, hospital services, or specialty care. Enrollment is by provider approval only.

Is DPC Right for You?

Who DPC is designed for

01
The Proactive Patient

You prioritize prevention over reaction. You want a provider who helps you stay healthy, not just manages symptoms when things go wrong. DPC gives you the time and access to do that well.

02
The Insurance-Frustrated Patient

You are tired of copays, referral hoops, prior authorizations, and providers who barely know your name. DPC removes all of that and replaces it with one flat fee and a real clinical relationship.

03
The High-Deductible Plan Patient

You have insurance for catastrophic coverage but rarely meet your deductible on primary care. DPC can be more cost-effective for your routine care while your insurance handles the big stuff.

04
The Chronic Condition Patient

You manage stable, non-complex conditions like hypertension, hypothyroidism, or high cholesterol and want consistent oversight without constantly fighting for appointments or refills.

05
The Whole-Body Health Patient

You want a provider who thinks about lifestyle, nutrition, metabolic health, and prevention — not just prescribing and moving on. Our DPC integrates with the rest of our functional wellness offerings.

06
The Remote or Telehealth Patient

You live outside Dallas or prefer virtual care. We offer DPC via telehealth in TX, CO, FL, IA, VT, VA, WA, and CT so geography is not a barrier to consistent primary care.

Common Questions

Frequently asked about Direct Primary Care

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care is a flat-fee medical membership that gives you direct access to your provider for routine and preventive healthcare. There are no copays, no surprise bills, and no rushed visits. Instead of volume-based insurance medicine, DPC focuses on preventive care, chronic condition management, metabolic health, and long-term health optimization.

Does DPC replace my insurance?

No. Direct Primary Care is a cash-pay medical membership, not insurance. It does not replace emergency care, hospital-based services, or specialty care. Many patients use DPC alongside a high-deductible insurance plan to cover primary care needs while keeping insurance for catastrophic coverage.

Is enrollment guaranteed?

No. Enrollment is by provider approval only. All prospective patients must complete a required virtual approval visit before joining. The visit allows us to review your medical history, eligibility, and whether DPC is an appropriate model for your health needs. Completion of the visit does not guarantee approval for membership.

Can I use DPC for hormone therapy or weight loss medications?

No. Hormone therapy, testosterone therapy, GLP-1 weight loss programs, and peptide therapy are not included in the DPC membership. These services are offered separately at Optimize by JaeNix and require their own consultation and enrollment process. DPC is focused on general adult primary and preventive care.

Is DPC available via telehealth?

Yes. DPC at Optimize by JaeNix is delivered virtually. We currently offer telehealth DPC in TX, CO, FL, IA, VT, VA, WA, and CT. Virtual care availability depends on state licensure and is subject to change.
